Based in Coastal Virginia, U.S.A., I specialize in lifestyle and studio newborn photography, maternity, engagements, high school seniors, family portraits, and special events by request.
I grew up in Cape Town, South Africa, where most of my family still lives, with a few now settled in England and Namibia. My photography journey began there in the 1990s, when I studied art and photography at the Frank Joubert Art Centre (now the Peter Clarke Art Centre) in Newlands, Western Cape. Back then, every image required time in the darkroom—chemicals, machines, and a whole lot of patience—to coax a photograph from negative to print. It was a slow, magical process that sparked a lifelong love for film and photography.
That love has followed me ever since. Now, with a little more freedom and inspiration (and nearly finished raising my three children), I’ve returned to capturing the bright, vibrant world around me. When I’m not caring for our energetic mini Australian Shepherds or managing my husband’s chiropractic clinic in Newport News, you’ll find me behind the camera.
I adore photographing tiny humans and older generations alike, but what matters most to me is making every person feel seen, loved, and beautiful. Photographs are timeless, and my goal is to create images and memories you’ll treasure for decades to come.
